BECOME CONSCIOUS

“Become Conscious” is a card I recently drew from the “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind” card deck by T. Harv Eker, founder of Peak Potentials. What is consciousness? According to Eker, “Consciousness is observing your thoughts and actions so that you can live from true choice in the present moment rather than being run by programming from the past.” How do we get to this point of becoming conscious? In the above statement, one of the key words is OBSERVING: Developing the ability to observe oneself, others, and nature through the practice of meditation is a core component of all spiritual teachings that I am aware of. Master teachers like Krishna, Buddha, and more recently Paramahansa Yogananda and Deepak Chopra insist that the practice of meditation is imperative if one wants to raise their consciousness and achieve full Self-realization. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who is hailed as “The Gandhi of our times” states that in addition to nutrition, exercise, and sleep, meditation is the fourth pillar to developing positive health. And with this formula, we have an integral system for achieving what Sri Aurobindo calls “The Triple Transformation of Integral Yoga:” Deep, high, and wide. The question of meditation comes up frequently in coaching sessions, and I like to respond from personal experience. Currently, I practice a 15 minute guided mediation from “Getting Into The Vortex” by Esther and Jerry Hicks (The Teachings of Abraham), which I enjoy tremendously… I keep craving it daily. The four step wellness formula of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has become the core component of my wellness coaching because it allows for those who apply it consistently...

Integral Energy & Performance Enhancement

One of the biggest influences on my thinking for the last two years has been the philosophy of Integral Yoga by Sri Aurobindo. As I understand it, in short, Integral Yoga is the process of the triple transformation… high, deep, and wide… opening ourselves to the Divine Influence… by embracing absolutely all that we are: Body, mind, and spirit, including all levels of consciousness, from the lowest to the highest. Within this context I have entered into the 16 week Isabody Challenge by Isagenix. From the three categories of Weight Loss, Healthy Aging, and Energy & Performance I chose the latter. What has inspired me is the opportunity to challenge my self, and to expand the scope to include mind, emotions, and soul. I have designed an integral four quadrant approach to advance myself physically, mentally, cognitively, intellectually, emotionally, financially, and spiritually during this time. What I am seeing is the emergence of a template… an evolutionary pathway for moving towards “Supramental Intelligence and Bliss.” (Sri Aurobindo) My intention is to experiment, record, and share my experiences via this blog. Anyone interested in joining me on this...

The Prosperous Habit of Health

A couple of nights ago I was walking past my book shelf when ‘the Voice’ said: “Grab this book and open it randomly.” The book was “Your Magic Power To Be Rich” by Napoleon Hill. This book is a recent compilation of Hill’s three bestselling books: Think and Grow Rich, The Magic Ladder to Success, and The Master-Key to Riches.” The page I opened up to randomly was page 311: “The Prosperous Habit of Health,” which is the 17th of the 17 principles of the Law of Success. Hill states that: “Practically all of the other sixteen factors which enter into the building of success depend on their successful application upon a health body. Good health is dependent, in the main, upon: Proper food and fresh air Regularity of elimination Proper exercise Right thinking” “The Magic Ladder of Success” was first published in 1930. Still true today… or are we just catching up with timeless...

Top 3 Reasons Why People Buy

I was listening to a teleconference call by sales and marketing expert Jefferey Combs last night. Jefferey, who runs Golden Mastermind Programs Incorporated, referred to a book Why People Buy by Pam Danziger. Pam states that the top three reasons why people buy are: 1) They want more money 2) They are dissatisfied with their vocation 3) They want to look and feel better Here’s my question (which I am asking myself as well): ***How is this TRUE for YOU? ***WHO do you know for whom this might be TRUE, also? SUGGESETD STEPS (I am taking these steps as well): Thinking of these 3 reasons why people buy… 1) Make a list of any name that comes to mind 2) Assign numbers 1,2, and or 3 to each name 3) Don’t sensor your list 4) Speak with one of your team members about your list 5) Create a strategy for approaching your contacts 6) Rehearse with your upline member (see example below) 7) Start calling The above 7 steps are a Lead Generation steps. Calling them starts the Lead Conversion (into a customer or associate) process. Be fit. Have fun. Feel free! MY COMMITTMENT: I will be focusing on taking these steps and blog about them. This promise will keep me focused and engaged, and it provides an opportunity for other ‘players’ to learn, engage, and expand. Call or text me with your questions: 604.780.0686 EXAMPLE for contacting someone on your list: Hey Ralf, this is Colin Hillstrom; How are you? Ralf, I want to talk to you for a couple of minutes because I need some help; is...

Dear Frankie (Movie with Gerard Butler)

The story of Dear Frankie is a great testament to the first two of the four components of lasting romance: 1) Increasing respect and 2) tenderness that grows every day. (from “Seeing With The Eyes Of Love” by Eknath Easwaran). Although our two leading adult characters (played so brilliantly by Gerard Butler and Emily Mortimer) only meet (I believe) three times, it is so easy to feel this growing respect and tenderness. As a 100% heterosexual man I can easily say that Gerard Butler truly opens my heart more so than any other actor (well… there’s Robert Redford, his integrity uplifts my heart and soul with everything he does), and Emily Mortimer, wow… so easy to embrace! I will definitely check out more work by these fine film makers and writers… BIG...
