3 Keys to Navigating “The Ascending Spiral”

Six more sound opportunities to shift before Solstice – colinhillstrom@gmail.com – Gmail The “Ascending Spiral” is a term that the Hathors (see www.TomKenyon.com for info) use to describe the process of moving upward in consciousness. Between now and June 17 we have six more Chakra Sound Baths scheduled. This provides an amazing opportunity to make a quantum leap as we approach the energetic pinnacle knows as the Summer Solstice. A sound bath will help to reduce stress, expand awareness, enhance brain function and performance, and ultimately, result in better life balance. Life balance is an important concept, because the more balanced we are, the healthier, more efficient, effective, creative, productive, and fulfilled we become. How do we track our degree of life balance? In life coaching, we use wheels as a means of generating awareness, making choices, and tracking action (the bridge between our inner and outer worlds!). I’ve been meaning to hand these out at sound baths, but then… everybody seems so blissed, that it never felt appropriate. If you are interested, you can download a free Life-energy wheel from my website: Visit colinhillstrom.com, then click on FREE PDF’S under the MEDIA tab and choose the Life-energy Wheel. It contains simple instructions. Should you have a question, you can call or text me: 604.780.0686. This is a sure way to be in the pilot’s seat as you move up on the “Ascending...

The End of Shame?

In the wake of last weekend’s workshop CRYSTAL SOUND, SILENCE, and COMMUNICATION, which I had co-facilitated with Laura Madsen (next date: July 8 & 9), I am reminded of two core components from Tom Kenyon’s HATHOR workshop in Seattle last November: BUILDING THE NEW WORLD… requires the clearing of the prenatal matrix, and the washing away of the levels of shame and guilt from our collective consciousness. The Hathors state that AWARENESS, CHOICE, and VIBRATION are the three keys to changing destiny, and in our workshop, Laura and I used the “Map of Consciousness” (from POWER VS FORCE) by David R. Hawkins, MD as a framework to generate awareness around the way we communicate with ourselves, with others, and with Life. Upon further reflection, and I have worked with this framework extensively for over a decade, it became even more clear that as we STOP SHAMING AND BLAMING, HUMILIATING and COMPLANING, we begin to ERASE THE FOUNDATION for all stress, strife, struggle, and suffering. Suggested practice: Louise Hay is a high proponent of mirror work. So am I. My suggestion is to combine the Hawaiian HO’OPONOPONO method for intra and interpersonal conflict resolution with mirror work: Face yourself in the mirror and state: “I am sorry for the habit of shaming, humiliating, blaming, and complaining. Please forgive me. I love you. Thank you!” We might be incorporating this practice at a Chakra Sound Bath in the near future. Stay tuned… Carpe diem!...

The Mountain of Life

The process of personal evolution and transformation is like climbing a mountain. The 17 levels of consciousness from David R Hawkins (see “Power Vs. Force” and subsequent books) have been beautifully captured as art by my friend Jan Rosgen. For your enjoyment I am posting a copy of the “mountainOFlife” that I have created with Jan’s artwork. Suggestion for using it: Step 1: How do you feel right? Which level describes your emotions? Step 2: Which next higher level could you aim for? Which thoughts, ideas, or insights present themselves to you? In this manner keep reaching up until you realize a new perspective on the issue at hand. A sure sign of inner change is a feeling of relief. Enjoy:)...

Learn Let Love – 3 Steps to Transforming the Conflicted Self

Conflict appears to be a natural by-product of human interactions. Some people say they thrive on conflict, others say they will do anything to avoid it. Who is right, which is the better way? One thing is for sure: Perpetual conflict does not create sustainable peace and prosperity. In fact the opposite is true: Perennial power struggles will eventually deplete hope, health, wealth, and happiness. A case in point is the USA, a nation that has been engaged in conflict or war somewhere on this planet for over a century. While there are times when conflict and war can stimulate renewal and prosperity, a continuum of such conditions will ultimately become unsustainable for even the richest societies and cause chaos and a final collapse. And so it is with our individual lives. What I have witnessed with thousands of life coaching clients is that over time the perennially conflicted mind turns bitter and hard. The consequences include an erosion of wealth: People lose their health, wealth, goodwill, and their most precious relationships. Where have these people gone wrong? I believe the root cause is very foundational. The definition of conflict includes “…a struggle for power.” Therefore, people who are in conflict with one another are struggling for something that they believe is short in supply, limited, or scarce. What this means is that they are not aware of the limitless power that they can access internally, so they search for it externally. Unfortunately, this strategy is doomed to fail because our source of life is internal and not external. Yes, we have to receive our air, water, food, and...

Movie: Belle

Here’s a strong, sensitive, enjoyable, and enlightening movie, relevant to the challenges that we face in individual and collective leadership today. Based on a true story in the late 1700’s, Belle centers around social issues, love, and leadership. Central to the story line is Lord Mansfield’s ruling on an infamous case that became an important step in bringing an end to slavery in England. How is this relevant to us today? I believe that the notion that we are free, free from slavery, is an illusion. What enslaves us today? “All that we are is a result of what we have thought.” (Buddha) I am not pointing at leaders, corporations, institutions… the usual suspects. We might be missing the point! Rather, let us look in the mirror, let us “Face The Face” (Pete Townshend) and shine the light of truth on the hidden causes of stress, strife, and suffering. What is truly keeping us trapped in the confinement of our “Soul Cages” (Sting)? Those who are familiar with my coaching style know that I always seek for the most direct and efficient path to the Light, the zone of enlightenment, or pure consciousness. How do we accomplish this, even without the assistance of a coach, counselor, or consultant? Here’s a powerful universal principle that is highlighted by the late enlightened master Barry Long from Australia: “I cannot teach you enlightenment, but I can teach you honesty.” In the final scenes of “Belle” we see this principle in action, that in fact… “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32) LIFE COACHING STEPS Facing truth takes tremendous courage and willingness; but what’s in between the levels of courage and willingness is...

HEAVEN IS FOR REAL (movie)

The movie Heaven Is For Real conveys an inspired message of genuine love, joy, and peace. I watched it last night and realized – again – that there really is no hell other than the one that humankind creates through ignorance, prejudice, impatience, greed, and other selfish desires and attachments. The movie offers several tender moments that can provide food for thought… and invite the notion that judgement and the need to destruct are born not of Divine but merely of the lower levels of human consciousness. The destiny for all of us, so it appears, is the state of peace. So what’s there to...

4 Step Wellness: A Perfect Balance of DO & BE!

A business coaching session with a client this morning generated the insight how the 4 Step Wellness formula from Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (Nutrition, Exercise, Sleep, and Meditation) provides a perfect 2 + 2 balance of doing and being: Optimal sleep hygiene is necessary for rejuvenating body, mind, and spirit, while meditation helps us gain freedom from the physical senses and cultivates the intuitive faculty of extra-sensory perception. Combined with optimal nutritional cleansing and replenishing and a well balanced exercise program that generates structural alignment, muscle tone and stamina, this formula of doing and being builds the foundation and sets the stage for a higher level of fulfillment in life. Thank you Sri Sri:) Click here to learn more about 4 Step...

BECOME CONSCIOUS

“Become Conscious” is a card I recently drew from the “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind” card deck by T. Harv Eker, founder of Peak Potentials. What is consciousness? According to Eker, “Consciousness is observing your thoughts and actions so that you can live from true choice in the present moment rather than being run by programming from the past.” How do we get to this point of becoming conscious? In the above statement, one of the key words is OBSERVING: Developing the ability to observe oneself, others, and nature through the practice of meditation is a core component of all spiritual teachings that I am aware of. Master teachers like Krishna, Buddha, and more recently Paramahansa Yogananda and Deepak Chopra insist that the practice of meditation is imperative if one wants to raise their consciousness and achieve full Self-realization. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who is hailed as “The Gandhi of our times” states that in addition to nutrition, exercise, and sleep, meditation is the fourth pillar to developing positive health. And with this formula, we have an integral system for achieving what Sri Aurobindo calls “The Triple Transformation of Integral Yoga:” Deep, high, and wide. The question of meditation comes up frequently in coaching sessions, and I like to respond from personal experience. Currently, I practice a 15 minute guided mediation from “Getting Into The Vortex” by Esther and Jerry Hicks (The Teachings of Abraham), which I enjoy tremendously… I keep craving it daily. The four step wellness formula of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has become the core component of my wellness coaching because it allows for those who apply it consistently...

QUANTUM TRANSFORMATION

Today I am emerging from a 2-day back-to-back Isagenix Cleanse. Having tried to fast and cleanse unsuccessfully for over 20 years, this is a wonderful experience! I feel energized, clear, focused… new born in a way that also has me feel a bit raw and vulnerable. Coming from a background of Natural Hygiene (food combining), wheat grass, juicing, raw foo and enzyme  nutrition (since 1987)… no method for cleansing has ever worked for me until I found the Isagenix Cleanse just this year. Why does it work so well? It appears that body and mind are masterfully supported during the cleanse day with various nutritional products that cleanse and replenish. How does it get better than that!!! As a life transformation coach, I see cleansing as a rapid tool for changing oneself for the better, rising up in consciousness where one finds more love, joy, confidence, peace… (see image below) I also realize how frightening change can be. When we rise up in consciousness, our relations change. That can be very scary, which is why so many people resist it and never improve their lives to the extent of experiencing true satisfaction and fulfillment. I am aware of this particularly today because of what’s happening inside my own self. Fortunately, I have the confidence, lifestyle, and skills to navigate whatever change comes my way. But this is only because of my experience, which has brought its struggles and suffering (this is like climbing a mountain, finding a new path, than guiding others to do the same). This new awareness enables me to create and offer a framework and support system for those who are inspired and eager to...

Integral Energy & Performance Enhancement

One of the biggest influences on my thinking for the last two years has been the philosophy of Integral Yoga by Sri Aurobindo. As I understand it, in short, Integral Yoga is the process of the triple transformation… high, deep, and wide… opening ourselves to the Divine Influence… by embracing absolutely all that we are: Body, mind, and spirit, including all levels of consciousness, from the lowest to the highest. Within this context I have entered into the 16 week Isabody Challenge by Isagenix. From the three categories of Weight Loss, Healthy Aging, and Energy & Performance I chose the latter. What has inspired me is the opportunity to challenge my self, and to expand the scope to include mind, emotions, and soul. I have designed an integral four quadrant approach to advance myself physically, mentally, cognitively, intellectually, emotionally, financially, and spiritually during this time. What I am seeing is the emergence of a template… an evolutionary pathway for moving towards “Supramental Intelligence and Bliss.” (Sri Aurobindo) My intention is to experiment, record, and share my experiences via this blog. Anyone interested in joining me on this...
